Last updated: 26 October 2026Arthasutra is built to be private. Your financial data stays on your phone. This page explains exactly what the app accesses and why.
1. What we access
Arthasutra reads SMS messages from banks and card issuers on your device to detect payments, income and bill reminders. Personal messages are not read or stored.
2. What we store
Transaction amounts, merchant names, dates, categories, your budget, goals and settings — stored only on your phone.
3. What we never do
We do not upload your SMS or financial data to any server, sell or share it, or show ads. We have no account system and no access to your bank.
4. Permissions and why
- Read SMS — import this month's bank messages.
- Receive SMS — notice a new bank message the moment it arrives.
- Notifications — spend alerts, daily limit and bill reminders.
- Camera / photos (optional) — scan a bill or add a goal photo.
5. Deleting your data
Uninstall the app, or open Settings › Apps › Arthasutra › Clear data. Because nothing is stored elsewhere, that removes everything.
6. Children
Arthasutra is not intended for children under 13.
